Bret Harte's Homework Center is available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It is a safe, supervised environment where students study, have fun, and receive academic assistance.
Homework shall be part of all students' daily learning for the purpose of reinforcing and extending the concepts taught in the classroom. It is assigned to meet students needs appropriate to their grade level, subject area, and ability. The average amount of time required for homework in grades 6-8 is 20-30 minutes per day per academic subject. (SJUSD Student & Parent Information Handbook page 30).
